Missions

Mission Statement – Calhoun Presbyterians feel called, as individual Christians and as a church, to keep moving from where we are to where Christ is.  Christ continues to restore His image in us, making us more the people He created us to be.  Where Christ is, in any situation and with any issue, is the ideal place for us to be.

Missions and Outreach – One of the greatest strengths of Calhoun First Presbyterian Church is our ongoing commitment to participating in God’s mission for His Church.  In addition to our support for VAC in serving hot meals to the hungry in our community on a monthly basis, we contribute to other local programs:  Ray of Hope, The Bridge, and Gordon Central High School co-op store.  Our foreign mission outreach includes support of Orphan Aid Liberia and Love the Children (Haiti).

Voluntary Action Center (VAC) – Volunteers from Calhoun First Presbyterian Church prepare a hot meal for members of our community the 4th Wednesday of every month. We buy the food, prepare it and serve anywhere from 80-120 with love and compassion. We have been doing this for eight years. Our volunteers truly find many blessings in participating in this mission.
